Jen’s father Gary received a liver transplant from a deceased donor in November of 2012. At the time he was the oldest organ recipient in University of Wisconsin history. When her mother Sandi passed away three years later, she was able to be a donor of multiple organs - including a liver, which really brought her connection to the mission full circle. At that time Sandi was the oldest organ donor in UW history. It’s exciting that those ages have now been surpassed! Jen has a very deep connection to organ donation and how it affects families after experiencing a parent receiving an organ and another parent being a donor. Her father and sister do their part in getting the word out about organ donation by speaking to groups about its importance and impact on families lives.
